2 Duties Responsibilities
• Monitor existing investments in fixed income hedge fund and long-only managers. This includes risk assessment, return attribution, and the monitoring of key developments at the fund manager.
• Maintain peer groups for each strategy within the universe of fixed income funds.
• IIdentiy new prospects through industry contacts, and by performing statistical analyses on the returns of individual hedge funds within the defined peer groups.
• Conduct due diligence visits with fund managers, prepare reports from those due diligence visits, and recommend follow-up actions.
• Identify the key drivers that impact performance of funds within the strategy, monitor capital market developments, and actively participate in top-strategy evaluation.
• Develop and enhance the analytical tools used to effectively carry out the responsibilities listed above.
• Work directly with senior investment professionals on various projects in support of the investment process and the product development process, and participate in other special projects as directed by management
3 Skills and Competencies Required
• At least five years of experience at a fund of funds, a hedge fund, a long-only investment management organization, or a broker dealer with a focus on fixed income markets and instruments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income market terminology and analytics is required. A strong working knowledge of MBS and ABS products is required.
• A degree from a top-tier university, preferably in finance or a related field. An advanced degree and/or CFA is a plus
• Superb analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a small dynamic work environment.
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously without the need for continual supervision.
• An ability to leverage widely used software tools to support the investment process. This individual should be an advanced user of Excel, statistical software packages, and industry standard tools such as Bloomberg.
