ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties are required that are not listed here.

  • Design experimental protocols and perform experimental studies to meet project goals and suggest follow-up experiments where necessary. Proven track record in the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology

  • Write experimental protocols, maintain detailed laboratory notebook, and deliver technical reports with conclusion supported by in-depth analysis of results

  • Investigates new technologies and determine feasibility for use and application
  • Collaborate and communicate in a multi-functional project team environment
  • Interact with other functional departments and external vendors to get materials/processes required for product development
  • Assist in drafting design history file documents and quality documents for process transfer to Productions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering or related fields is required with a minimum of 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience plus an outstanding knowledge in the field of medical device and/or process automation.DESIRE SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

The employee should have in-depth knowledge and experience working with common laboratory techniques and equipment. It is also essential that employee has a full understanding of technologies employed for point-of-care testing, particularly blood glucose monitoring. Additional KSA (knowledge, Skills and Ability) are as follows:

  • Analytical reasoning and data analysis skills
  • Ability to trouble-shoot formulations, instrumentation problems, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Capacity to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and principles in advanced algebra and calculus to solve practical problems is essential. Able to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Proficiency in using PC and common software including MS WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and OUTLOOK is required. It is also desirable that employee is familiar with other job-related software packages
  • Ability to assess risks associate with different choices and make recommendation on how to proceed
  • Experience dealing with external suppliers and capable to handle negotiations
  • Theoretical and hands-on experience with laser technology is a plus
