Research Associate -Bank/Financials Analyst for Tier 1 US Fund
As a result of steady growth in Asia, this is a exciting new Research Associate headcount in Singapore responsible for covering the financial/insurance sector in Asia.
Reporting to the Lead Analyst, you will support the investment research process through a broad range of general responsibilities including data gathering/analysis, database maintenance, model development/maintenance, financial analytics and the monitoring of sell-side research.
On a day to day, you will
- Build, update and maintain detailed bank, diversified financial service company, and insurance models within Asia
- Research work on key leverage points of companies; including conversations with management and industry experts
- Maintain and track data/metrics on specific companies, industries and economic trends
- Expands projects to enhance the quantity and quality of data
- Participates in team meetings and general investment team meetings
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 2-5 Years' experience as a buy/sell side Research Analyst dealing with financial services models across the entire bank/diversified financial services/insurance sectors across Asia.
- Good communicator and fluency in Mandarin is a MUST
- Creative self-starter, good team player with the ability to work independently, prioritize and make decisions
- Advanced computer skills. MS Excel experience required. Charting and VBA experience a plus.
- Ability to apply valuation tools to models such as ROIC, ROE and be confident around DCFs..
- Experience using MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint, CEIC, Datastream, Factset and Bloomberg
- Experience with bank and/or insurance companies accounting preferred
Candidates currently based in Singapore will be preferred. Those with no prior experience covering Financials or does not speak Mandarin will not be considered.
