JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for the development of new and improved fine abrasive particle technology and engineered abrasive slurries for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) and high-end polishing applications. The engineer will be responsible for the following:
• Define and execute projects under timelines dictated by demanding customers/strategic partners.
• Develop and understand unit operations to transfer technology efficiently into production.
• Define new applications for current technology and developing new or improved technologies to meet demands of new applications.
• Perform all development activities in a safe manner consistent with good laboratory practices and in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Work well with a variety of internal partners to accomplish development objectives.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in ceramic/materials science, chemistry, or chemical engineering with 6+ years of experience in inorganic powder synthesis or powder processing. Experience with polishing and planarization processes is a strong plus. The incumbent must be well organized, and have the ability to communicate clearly with staff and customers in both formal and informal settings. He/she must be able to manage multiple projects and deliver results within defined timelines.
