The Neuroscience team is devoted to developing novel therapeutics for the treatment of CNS disorders. We are currently seeking a Research Associate to conduct research into novel drug delivery strategies for CNS drugs. The Research Associate will be an active participant in a dynamic drug discovery environment. The successful candidate will be encouraged to present and defend their data at internal and external scientific meetings.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelors Degree with at least 3 years of experience in a lab, or a Masters Degree with at least of 1 year experience in a lab. Experience in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field is required. The ideal individual should have experience in conducting in vitro and in-vivo assays. It is essential that the candidate be self-motivated, team orientated and productive with proven scientific problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be adaptable and have the ability to thrive in a team and goal driven environment. Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company setting is a strong plus. Familiar with a variety of biochemical techniques and cell based assays including ELISA, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, radioligand binding, and fluorescence-based functional assays is desired. In addition, the candidate may be required to run simple in-vivo pharmacodynamic assays. Preferably, the candidate will be experienced working with large molecules such as antibodies and peptides. This position is located in La Jolla, CA.
