Job Description: The Shaw Group provides premier engineering, design, construction, and maintenance services to government and private-sector clients in a wide array of industries, including the energy, environmental, infrastructure, and emergency response markets. Summary: Schedule management for projects and programs. Includes preparation of schedule reports for projects and/or programs. Other duties may be assigned Responsibilities: Responsible for the planning and scheduling through the production schedules. May coordinate with purchasing, production, and engineering. May lead other schedulers. Review and validate schedule progress via physical work product inspection. Maintain thorough knowledge of total project progress via visual inspection. Travel to multiple project areas and/or project sites to support project needs. Qualifications/Competencies/Experience: In addition to Level 1,2, and 3 competencies, has depth and breadth of experience in own discipline; integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities Acts as a key contributor in a complex and critical environment May lead teams or projects; shares expertise Has developed depth and breadth of expertise in own discipline Applies in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and nonstandard situations Anticipates customer needs and identifies solutions Interprets internal/external business issues and recommends best practices in own discipline Manages costs for specific projects Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions Manages own time to meet objectives; forecasts and plans resource requirements Explains difficult concepts and persuades others to adopt a point of view Motivates other team members; may be team leader. Typically has 7 to 25+ years of construction, startup/commissioning and system turnover experience. Additional Details: Scheduler opportunity located in Jenkinsville, SC. POSITION DESCRIPTION ? Reports to Site Schedule Manager within site Project Controls Group. ? Serves as one of the Construction Planner/Schedulers for Shaw?s VC Summer Nuclear project. ? Lead schedule update meetings, record progress, and input into Primavera software (P6). ? Interact with appropriate project personnel. ? Provide guidance to junior Schedulers. RESPONSIBILITIES ? Will plan and schedule construction details through interaction with construction personnel to include creation of activities, logic, durations, coding, resource assignments, and calendar assignments. ? Will lead schedule progress meetings and input status in Primavera. ? Will produce standard project schedule reports based on project requirements. ? Will sequence major work priorities into a logical schedule. ? Will produce ad hoc reports upon request. ? Will analyze portions of the schedule under your purview. ? Will monitor schedule for: changes in float, correct logic, potential problems, proper required coding, and budgeted resources. ? Communicate any schedule problem areas to project team and provide solutions/options for resolution. ? Will monitor upstream activities that feed construction activities for any potential impacts and report these items to site management. ? Will reflect schedule change orders in project schedule. ? Provide schedule ?what-if? scenarios when requested. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ? Thorough knowledge of Construction Scheduling. ? Thorough knowledge of project scheduling concepts, components, and software tools (Primavera v6). ? Ability to effectively communicate with other disciplines or groups and resolve schedule conflicts. ? Knowledge of EPC-scoped projects. ? 7+ years construction scheduling experience required. ? Power Plant and/or Nuclear experience is required. Candidate must meet the criteria for access to the company?s, partners?, and clients? technologies. GENERAL INFORMATION Position is full-time, salaried-exempt and is located in Shaw?s site Power office in Jenkinsville, SC. Overtime may be required to meet project demands.
