Research & Development Manager Job in Fort Belvoir 22060, Virginia Us

Position requires a technical degree (e.g., science or engineering) in a field relevant to nuclear detection with at least four-five years relevant lab and/or operational experience.  Advanced degree in nuclear physics, radio-chemistry, or nuclear engineering is desired.  Knowledge of nuclear weapons, radiological/nuclear search requirements, and the associated technology to meet the requirements and knowledge of radiation simulation/modeling, detection algorithms, and detection science is highly desired.  Recent experience in application and use of radiation detectors in nuclear or radiological incident response and experience working with other DoD or federal agencies, and laboratories is required.  Prior military service working in radiological defense and recent experience in military application and use of radiation detectors in nuclear or radiological search and/or incident response is required.  Practical experience in radiation simulation/modeling, detection algorithms, and detection science is desired.  Familiarity with DOE/NNSA labs, DOD RD, and DHS/DNDO RD and experience with RD based prototyping, test, evaluation, demonstration, and fielding of systems is also desired.  Must have at least SECRET clearance.  Must have or be able to obtain TS/SCI.
