Research Manager Pet Innovation Trends Job in San Francisco, California Us

BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
The Research Manager will be responsible for developing insights that are foundational in developing and supporting our brands.

Responsibilities include:
* Ensures all market research projects are designed and executed well in order to gather information. that will impact business decisions and meet objectives of business BU.
* Manages multiple businesses/clients with some guidance.
* Functions as primary contact /able to comfortably lead meetings with BM's and SBM's and occasionally Directors.
* Acts as a thought partner and key insights resource for Brand / Innovation team.
* Monitor research spending for BU.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Represent the consumer and manage research projects for the assigned BU -identifying questions, determining a research solution, and executing research. Communicate and apply insights from research in a way that influences decisions.
* Proactively identifying questions and delivers insights (not data) utilizing historical research, secondary research, supplier experts, trend information, etc.
* Design research plans which reflect the stage gate process, and warranted levels of rigor given associated risk and available budget. Able to confidently craft a multi-study research plan for an initiative.
* Monitor budget

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
BA/B S degree required
Years of Experience: * 7+ years experience in consumer custom research; previous Innovation/concept writing experience a plus (Non-CPG experience will be considered)

Special Requirements:
* Experience with a broad range of custom research methodologies including concept and product testing.
* Experience with both Innovation and Base Brand Business Issues
* Some familiarity with basic Syndicated Data/Analysis (Store Panel)
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to tell a story pulling from multiple sources and influence decisions.
* Strong project management skills. Requires minimal supervision.
* Strong influencing and communication skills.
