Resident Account Manager recruitment
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the main purpose of the role is to actively manage a panel of IFA's in order to increase new and profitable business and achieve published targets in a commercial and ethical manner.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Criteria Required
- Personal sales targets exceeded across all priority product groups
- Analysis of management information to direct sales activities
- Business plans produced to support the achievement targets
- External relationships with all key influencers and business writers developed to maximise business opportunities.
- Account management system updated to maintain a current database on all IFAs
- Internal relationships with key influencers and resources developed to ensure the effective use of the additional support available to IFAs
- Intermediary distribution support resources managed and developed effectively to meet Account Manager and customer needs
- Resources targeted, managed and negotiated commercially to meet business and customer needs
- Problems and complaints managed to ensure relationships with customers are maintained
- Account Manager's behaviour and conduct is consistent with Standard Life's corporate image to maintain the company's reputation
- Industry and product knowledge updated and maintained to maximise business opportunities and ensure credibility with IFA customers
- Sales process followed in order to maximise new business opportunities; utilising internal Priority Product specialists to develop sales and support opportunities with IFAs
- Ensure full adherence to the Company's Resident Workers Policy and all health and safety policy
- Ensure that local and role specific Treating Customer Fairly requirements are met in line with your key outputs.
Key Personal Criteria Required
Essential:
- Level 4 qualified.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related discipline
- Financial services experience in a similar environment.
- Ability to demonstrate and prove a consistent record of target achievement in sales and business growth.
- Valid and full driving licence.
- Knowledge of technology. i.e. laptop etc. and to be able to use email.
Desirable:
- Progress towards chartered status.
- Selling experience and proven track record in IFA Sales
- Competent at MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Technical Competences
IFA and Client Direct Sale Processes
Awareness and understanding of the sales processes and skills required to support them. Process covers; Standard Life and the different IFA Sales processes (including client contact)
Market and Industry Knowledge
Thorough understanding of regulatory guidelines regarding IFA sales
Good understanding of marketplace and industry and current trends/changes/issues
Good understanding of IFAs needs and requirements both current and in the future
Product Knowledge
Standard Life Group's full product range (including charging structures, features, competitive position)
Regulatory and Legislative Knowledge
Develop and maintain a knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements in order to; covers confidently with customers/external bodies and influence internal and external debate
Systems and technology
Able to use relevant systems e.g. Word, e-mail, laptop functions
