- Ensure home is a stable, caring and secure environment. Oversee the practice of consistent behavior management principles.
- Provide support with interpersonal communication, problem solving, money management, personal hygiene, etc
- Provide nutritious meal plans and physical activities to facilitate personal health and well being
- Create access to the community through planned activities and leisure outings including transportation. Plan special occasion events.
- Staff house with caring, dedicated DSP’s and provide the support they need to be successful in this role. Hold monthly staff meeting and provide in-service training.
- Fiscal management of group home’s financial books.
- Ensure upkeep and maintenance of the residential home.
- Maintenance of all OPWDD and ACLD required documentation.
- On-call 24/7 to respond to house emergencies with agency cell phone.
High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Clean, valid, New York State driver’s license required
Two years experience working in the field serving individuals with developmental disabilities
One year management experience required.
Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and systems required
Must obtain and maintain AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) Certification
Must obtain and maintain SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) Certification
Must possess the ability to perform SCIP maneuvers which may require bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, lying on the ground, and supporting another person’s body weight with their own.
