Restructuring and Recovery Assistant

Our client, a leading national independent firm of accountants and business advisers is seeking a Restructuring and Recovery Assistant Manager, to work with the Recovery team providing a full range of insolvency services including administration, administrative receiverships, CVL's, MVL's, Compulsory Liquidations, and bankruptcies.

About the Role
The Assistant Manager will be an experienced case administrator, able to support managers and partners by ensuring that each assignment is carried out efficiently and effectively, that statutory requirements are adhered to, and that creditors and other interested parties receive a quality service in all respects.

Principal duties:
- To carry out duties assigned by the managers and partners efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with the firm's procedures and relevant statutory and extra-statutory obligations.
- To communicate any problems in complying with those instructions, or any contentious issues identified, to the manager immediately.
- To help to ensure a cost-effective administration and where relevant, realisation of assets by maintaining records promptly and efficiently. To ensure a prompt and appropriate reaction to all correspondence, telephone calls and interviews.
- To treat creditors and other interested parties with respect and courtesy, and to practise the principles of excellent client service at all times.
- To record time spent on a regular basis, and to ensure that time charged is consistent with the proper performance of the work.
- To monitor time costs and recommend appropriate billing to the manager, and to ensure that the necessary approvals are obtained to achieve prompt collection of such fees.
- To clear all review points raised on the work undertaken and update working papers and conclusions where appropriate.
- To maintain an awareness of the firm's other services and to ensure a prompt, courteous and effective liaison with other departments.
- To advance the level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses.
Willingness to attend marketing events and develop the department.

About You
You'll have relevant Restructuring Recovery / Insolvency experience gained in a practice environment. You'll be GCSE and A Level educated and will ideally also have relevant professional qualifications: CPI (or equivalent) preferred. You'll be Proficient in Word, Excel and will ideally have experience of insolvency software packages. You'll have strong organisation and prioritisation skills, the able to multi-task, with a flexible, adaptable and resilient attitude.
Clear communication is key: particularly your written communication skills - ideally you'll be able to draft and write reports. More generally you should be well spoken and professional and clear in all written and oral communications. You'll need to able a confident character who is able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
