Accountant – Retail Accountant – Belfast – Salary Dependent Upon Experience - FMCG
Hays is delighted to be a trusted recruiting partner to leading pan-European FMCG business with offices in Belfast. We are seeking to recruit a retail accountant for a long-term contract set to last 9-12 months to cover a period of maternity leave within the business. This job is due to begin in the coming weeks so candidates should be immediately available, or have a reduced notice period to be considered.
Working closely with the Business Development and Sales functions, this role will primarily focus on the analysis and mitigation of financial risk from clients and customers.
Duties:
· Extensive financial evaluation and analysis of new customers wishing to join the group, or existing customers
· Financial risk management, proactive support the divisional credit controller and Sales team in the area of problem accounts/high risk accounts.
· Preparation and extensive financial evaluation of proposals for Board/Group approval
· Direct management of bank relationships to support development activities
· Proactive financial advice and analysis to new customers wishing to join the group or existing customers
· Maintaining regular visits to each retailer in their portfolio including provision of at least one annual analysis of accounts performance and action plan
Criteria:
· Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
· Minimum of 1 year PQE experience
· Significant experience in accounts preparation, financial planning and analysis, and customer relationship building
· Strong IT Skills, particularly MS Excel
