JOB DESCRIPTION

An industry leading investment bank is looking to bring on a business focused/well rounded retail credit expert. They are seeking to build their retail coverage, and are doing so in an organic fashion. The team is new and is growing, so job security is there - especially in this environment. This is a good role for the individual – coming from a retail background – to move into an investment bank and gain hands-on exposure.

Location:   New York, USA

The role:

• The ability to overview various models that are considered “cutting edge” within credit risk.

• Apply your business knowledge of retail products (credit cards, student loans, ecs…) to a business that is growing – ability to see your work progress through the ranks and directly impact the global investment bank.

• Work with some of the best credit risk and model validation groups in the business, and have the chance to improve on those skills. 

• Work collaboratively with the front office – 360 degree of credit risk exposure.

• Apply one’s knowledge of Basel II and retail credit.

Requirements:

• Retail credit expert – 4+ years of experience

• Regional banking experience is a plus

• Must understand the procedure and process of credit risk from a retail and Basel view.

• Understand the fine detail and be able to explain it – this is business knowledge with retail contracts for example.

• Econometrics or statistics background. Masters or PhD’s.

• Good understanding of financial mathematics
