We are seeking a retail management professional to join our team as a Retail Store Director-In-Training in the Boston area. Our current Boston area store locations include:
• New England Aquarium
• Museum of Science in Boston
• Boston Children’s Museum
• Connecticut Science Center (Hartford, CT)

STORE DIRECTOR IN TRAINING – JOB PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The program focuses on training ambitious, entrepreneurial, and motivated retail professionals who are seeking an opportunity to join the industry leader in cultural attraction retail management. The on-the-job training, combined with in store mentoring, provides you with personalized attention to prepare you for one of our dynamic management opportunities.
This position may require relocation upon completion of the training program and based on availability of open management positions.
Qualified candidates must have a strong retail sales background, an entrepreneurial spirit, great interpersonal skills, and love to sell. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated the following: Ability to understand, and follow all guest service programs; Identify new ways to drive sales and achieve goals; Show dynamic leadership ability, hire and train staff, as well as to motivate staff to promote maximum performance; Ensures sales opportunities are maximized through the right product and communicates inventory opportunities to the corporate office; and Managed payroll and controllable profit within established guidelines.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equal relevant work experience
- Ability to relocate
- Minimum of 5 years retail experience
- Must have previous store manager experience
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of financial concepts to operate a retail environment
- Superior customer service abilities
- Solid leadership abilities to cultivate business partnerships and successfully develop and manage a store team
- Strong computer proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to travel; extended overnight stays possible
