Retail Market Manager Job in 1000, Brussels Belgium
The Market Manager has the overall responsibility and accountability for the commercial operations on a daily basis in his market. He manages and coaches the store personnel through his team of District Managers in order to achieve operational and financial business objectives, sales targets and customer satisfaction. He assures the implementation of the company's strategy and the compliance with the company’s mission and values.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- People Management
· Creates a clear sense of purpose and alignment by effectively communicating organizational plans to the market and operations team. Encourages the sales culture to his team and leads by example.
· Develops the capabilities of the operations management team (District Managers) in his market through training and coaching in order to succeed.
· Ensures optimal staffing of his market: hiring and firing responsibility; consistently applies employment policies, practices and processes.
· Provides ongoing operations management evaluation by reviewing performance against job competencies and conducting formal performance reviews (mid-year and yearly appraisals) using established tools.
· Maintains a current succession plan identifying the turnover trends, employee retention expectations and potential promotions.
- Tactical Business Management
· Implements a compelling business plan for the market, identifying clear objectives, action steps and key result areas which are informed and aligned to both country and company goals.
· Has overall Profit Loss responsibility of his market; managing the costs with the given budgets and targets.
· Leads operations in accomplishment of the business plan.
· Analyzes the sales results of each district and takes action in order to achieve sales objectives.
· Identifies and analyzes market trends (focus on competition analysis) utilizing business intelligence tools.
· Identifies target customers and subsequent required actions in partnership with Marketing; develops and implements appropriate local marketing plans.
- Operational Excellence
· Responsible for operational compliance of all store-related employee and customer health/safety regulations and issues.
· Ensures that all districts meet the operational standards; including personnel, property and office requirements. Is accountable for the execution and implementation of all standards and procedures on an operational level.
· Assumes responsibility for ensuring legal compliance throughout the market, including employment law, local mandates, customer bad-debt/collections, foreclosures, insurance claim management.
· Maintains a constructive relationship with the local unions.
Experience
Over 10 years of people management experience within a retail multi-site or regional environment.
