In this position you will be trained as a licensed financial professional in our Customer Value Center. Becoming a Retention Representative can be a springboard to a successful career with Prudential Financial, a world leader in financial services.
You will be helping to retain Prudential customers who call to cancel their insurance policies. Your job begins with an extensive paid training program. During training you will learn to understand what your customers' needs and concerns are so that you can either re-educate them about the benefits of their current policies, or tell them about other options Prudential has to meet their changing needs. You will be trained on sales techniques, insurance products, and the systems you will use.
To be qualified for this position you will need:
- Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to persuade and sell.
- The ability to quickly engage customers in discussion.
- Exceptional active listening skills and the ability to ask appropriate questions to determine customers' needs and preferences.
We also prefer, but do not require, that you have:
- Previous direct telephone sales experience or customer service experience in telemarketing, commission sales, or collection.
- Knowledge of life insurance products.
- A college degree.
- FINRA registration for series 6 63 (Variable) and Minnesota Life and Variable license (but must be acquired as soon as possible and no later than 6 months from hire.) Note: Prudential will cover fees for employees who do not have these qualifications at time of hire.

Hours:
- The hours of operation for the Customer Value Center are 7:00am to 7:00pm CST. Retention Representatives work a daily eight-hour shift, Monday through Friday, or may be able to work a compressed week schedule (For example, four 10-hour workdays Monday through Thursday.)
- After training, the regular shift hours for new hires will be 11:00am-7:00pm CST.
