RF Design Engineer (Receivers & Transmitters) Job in Sunnyvale 94086, California US
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our company is looking for a RF/Analog or microwave "solid-state" circuit design engineer, specifically with significant experience in power amplifier Multi-Chip Module (MCM) board design including matching networks filter design. The candidate will be part of a product development team composed of other design engineers, technicians, layout designers to effectively plan and execute RF/Analog Integrated Circuit (IC) as well as Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs to meet critical deadlines within the cost performance criteria provided by customers as well as marketing. The candidate will face challenging performance parameters in the design of power amplifiers, power control schemes, "front-end" module products for the very fast paced competitive wireless handset market.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must have a MSEE degree or a Ph.D. with significant related experience.
- Candidates must have knowledge of design simulation tools or equivalent.
- Candidates are required to have a solid background in Product Realization Process (PRP).
- Candidates must have knowledge of Design Architecture of test parameters/equipment.
- Candidated must have Device or Product Characterization Knowledge.
IDEAL CHARACTERISITCS:
- Candidates who have extensive experience in RF/Analog circuit design, simulation, layout in Cadence (or equivalent tool) are preferred.
- Ideal candidates need a deep knowledge of power amplifier architectures "trade-offs".
- Ideal candidates have proven experience in quickly bringing up, testing, optimizing RF/Analog test chips as well as boards in the lab using all types of lab equipment.
- Ideal candidates must be a self starter with excellent written oral communication skills.
- Ideal candidates have the ability to work cohesively as well as meet deadlines in a "fast-paced" small team environment.
- Ideal candidates have experience in the architecture, design, modeling of CMOS power amplifiers, power control, as well as linearization schemes.
- Candidates must display an understanding of how 2G 3G system level issues impact RF front end module design as well as their performance.
- Ideal candidates will have experience in designing under a phase gate product development process with stringent deadlines.
- Ideal candidates will be able to show a "track-record" of taking designs from concept to high volume production.
