Matron/Deputy Manager, Southampton, Hampshire

An exciting opportunity has become available to work with a family owned company who provide specialist residential services with nursing across Hampshire. This post is to work as a Matron/Deputy Manager within their acquired brain injury service.

Our client has a proven track record of delivering high quality services to residents who may exhibit challenging behaviour and mental health problems and cannot be placed into traditional residential and nursing home facilities. This post is based in the Southampton area of Hampshire and is a full time permanent role.

The salary on offer for this exciting Matron/Deputy Manager post in the Southampton area of Hampshire is £40,000 - £45,000 per year depending on experience.

To be considered for this Matron/Deputy Manager post you must:

- Assist the general manager with the day to day running of the designated clinical areas
- supervise and coordinate the service in respect of both professional nursing care and the overall function of the service
- Be responsible for the professional development of a defined team
- Actively seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the service as a specialist provider of neurological services
- Clinically lead nursing teams and liaise with external agencies
- Assist in the resolution of any conflicts within the clinical area, resolving informal complaints and assisting in the investigation of and response to formal complaints as required
- Have open and transparent communication channels that support the team to do the right thing for the people we care for
- Manage a delegated budget and working closely with the General Manager to achieve financial balance
- Provide clinical supervision and appraisal to designated clinical teams
- Be familiar with current legislation and codes of practise relating to wider healthcare settings and care homes
- Take responsibility for HR issues including appraisal, personal development, sickness and absence, disciplinary and grievance, recruitment and selection and personal; career development delegating as appropriate
- Ensure the clinical audit processes within the service are implemented effectively and that all clinical practice is systematically reviewed, evaluated and compared against best practice
- Develop an annual training plan for all nursing and support staff
- Participate in the ‘on call’ rota as required
