Risk And Compliance Manager
Robert Half Insurance are recruiting for a well known insurance broker with city based offices looking for a compliance manager to be based in either the London or Surrey based offices. The successful candidate will be experienced dealing with compliance and risk management and come from an insurance broker/company environment.
The General Responsibilities
To act as the Risk and Compliance manager for our client in the best interests of the company with honesty, integrity and good faith towards shareholders, employees and clients, suppliers, and of the community within which the company operates.
To use such personal and professional skills in the role, together with such contacts, experience and judgement as he/she may possess to optimise both the short-term and the long term financial performance of the company.
Regulatory Responsibilities
To be aware of and implement the business process requirements as laid out by the FSA

3. Observes proper standards of market conduct
Drive the implementation and maintenance of a robust and effective risk and compliance management framework for the group, with a focus on the broking divisions.
Working with the UK broking operations director, identify any emerging risks, and facilitate maintenance (review and update) of the risk register, and risk treatment plans
Provide specific guidance and support to the London market broking operations, in close liaison with the Operations Director, ensuring compliance to both Lloyd's of London and FSA regulatory requirements.
Monitor regulators and industry stakeholders on an ongoing basis in order to understand current compliance issues facing the industry, and develop and implement plans to address changes or initiatives arising for the clients group risk and compliance framework
Improve and maintain procedures for breach reporting and record keeping and reporting to support the compliance framework, and ensure that appropriate follow up on systematic or material issues is undertaken on a timely basis
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and the clients group policies and procedures by monitoring compliance audits, including systematic reviews.
Action issues impacting the sustainability for the clients compliance framework
Reasonable practicable experience managing risk and compliance tasks within a medium to large commercial environment or professional services firm
Direct experience in the General Insurance/Financial Services industry is highly desirable
Audit experience desirable Ability to analyse regulatory, statutory requirements and provide sound risk and compliance management advice in the context of the commercial environment
Understanding of FSA and their impact on regulation and governance to the insurance industry
Change/culture management experience
Salary up to £45,000 depending upon experience
