Risk Associate, GCS Business and Services
The Team
The Group Credit Structuring Business and Services team is accountable for credit decisions on all risk-rated Troublesome and Impaired Assets (TIAs) as well as security enforcement, realisation of assets that secure our loans, management of litigation matters involving the Group and management of a portfolio of customers with a high credit risk.
The Role
The role is responsible for; the realisation of assets, collection of unsecured business debts, managing a portfolio of customers and matters involving litigation. This diverse role involves applying approved risk management frameworks in the management of the Group Credit Structuring portfolio to achieve the optimum outcome for the Group in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Main Duties
- Provide customer service to the GCS Centres nationally and other relevant internal staff as well as relevant external providers by role modelling the Group's sales service standards
- Undertaking the necessary tasks to realise customer's assets that have been pledged to CBA to secure it's advances, including but not limited to the following:
- Issuing of legal documents instructing agents such as lawyers, mercantile agents, valuers etc.
- Instructing and managing various types of insolvency appointees to ensure preservation and cost-effective recovery of business assets
- Taking possession of and insuring assets appointing agents to sell assets
- Managing a portfolio of clients with a view to improving their risk profile
- Accounting for asset sales
- Attending to timely settlement of sales
- Accounting for all recoveries including those from debt collectors
- Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of provisions and loan losses
- Work within your various delegations
Experience Required
- An advanced understanding of court processes across state jurisdictions
- Experience in managing litigation matters on behalf of a financial institution
- Realisation of commercial and residential real estate and plant and equipment
- Credit management of a portfolio of clients in the SME segment
- Cost effective actions in collecting debts
- Solid communication and negotiation skills
- Effective organisation and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
