Risk Assurance & Audit Specialist – Global Life Insurer – based in Dublin recruitment
Position:
Reporting to Internal Audit Senior Management and working with a team of professionals, the successful applicant will support the Head of Internal Audit in providing independent assurance over governance, risk management and control processes whilst influencing the strengthening of these processes through the sharing of best practice. This is a high profile position requiring interaction with all Management levels across my client’s group.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Gaining a thorough understanding of current and emerging governance, risk management and control processes associated with the assigned business areas;
- Carrying out delegated audits and other reviews within agreed timescales, that will support the audit opinion in a manner that is consistent with Internal Audit’s standards, methodologies and processes;
- Building effective business relationships with senior business managers during audits, an essential input to executing the work in a reliable and collaborative fashion and to sharing best practice;
- In conjunction with Audit Management, preparing high quality written reports on relevant governance, risk management and control issues and communicating these to Management, agreeing action plans and tracking such issues for resolution with agreed timelines;
- Liaising effectively with Internal Audit’s strategic partner, leveraging their resources and infrastructure to support the execution of delegated work.
The Successful Candidate:
The successful applicant must hold a relevant professional qualification (e.g. MIIA, ACA, ACCA) or be willing to undertake education towards a relevant professional qualification and should possess the following skills and competencies:
- Experience in executing risk based assurance work, preferably in a Life Assurance company or other financial services;
- A good understanding of risks facing the Life Assurance industry;
- Strong work ethic along with ownership for all deliverables;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical thinking and intellectual curiosity;
- Highly motivated with strong commercial awareness;
- Strong planning skills and delivery focussed; and,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
