RISK & COMPLIANCE CONSULTANT
Description:
An exciting new opportunity has become available within a highly successful asset management firm to work within their Risk and Compliance function. Within this role you will be expected to carry out assurance work in all areas of the business. For this role you must be an experienced individual (with experience in assurance and regulatory compliance) to be able to hit the ground running.
Core Responsibilities:
- To produce robust and challenging assurance reports for senior management and to discuss your findings and proposed actions at director and executive committee level
- To provide comfort to senior management that the key risks within the organisation are being managed appropriately
- To implement the assurance plan and deliver value-add robust, accurate and timely risk and control review activity
- Taking a corporate-wide view, proactively identify and evaluate sources of risk in the corporate business model and governance processes of the company
- Liaise within Risk Compliance to ensure that risk assessment results are incorporated into the assurance plan and that the results of assurance activity is fed back into risk assessment
- Develop good working relationship within the company–Internal
- Audit and Compliance, and share results of assurance work
- Assist with the management of the annual external audit

- Influence the business in relation to regulatory issues and can deal with difficult situations in a sensitive and diplomatic manner
- Be able to understand the wider context and implications of regulation, risk and control within the company
- Be proactive in identifying and analysing problems and is able to think holistically when designing workable solutions
- Be comfortable working to deadlines and can effectively prioritise own workload to deliver in line with agreed timescales
- Be self-motivated and driven to achieve success through the delivery of results
Core Requirements:
Essential:
- More than 5 years experience in a regulatory compliance role, preferably within asset management;
- Knowledge of operational risk frameworks, principles and practices;
- Monitoring and assurance activity within a compliance role.
Desirable:
- Some operational experience within asset management
- Knowledge of the business and products of the company
- Knowledge of relevant industry bodies
- Degree educated
- IMC/IAQ/CISI Diploma exams
