Position Description:
SunGard a Fortune 500 Company and Global Leader in Financial Systems Software are currently seeking a Risk Consultant Intern to join the market leading Asset Management Segment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Technical support and consultancy - Proactively ensure clients receive accurate and efficient resolution to queries, by reference to relevant documentation where appropriate. Identify and escalate more serious issues to appropriate internal resources/management.
• Presales support. Assist the sales team in providing high-quality sample reports to prospects and supporting the prospect during the trial phase.
• Client relationship management - Maintain an active dialogue with the client ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and ensuring continued client retention. Record CRM information in a timely and disciplined manner.
• Risk Model Production - Responsible for running, building, testing and ensuring cutting edge risk models are produced for customers in a timely manner.

• Solid grasp of financial engineering concepts, including financial risk management (portfolio theory, measures of risk, VaR), options pricing theory, statistical techniques and securities valuation methodologies
• Competent with Excel VBA and/or a scripting language. Familiarity with SQL XML, would be advantageous
• Experience with R/S-Plus or other statistical package, would be advantageous
• Responsible self-motivated: capable of self-managing. Must co-ordinate effectively with colleagues in distributed locations
• Detail orientated: patience and perseverance in seeing a complex problem through to an agreed solution
• High degree of professionalism and business awareness: quickly understand the investment process and business issues presented by the client
• Mature judgment in handling sensitive client issues
• Presentable, with appropriate on-site manner, confident, open and pleasant demeanor
