Description of IRML:
IRML provides the asset management industry with flexible and independent risk measurement solutions as well as independent valuation verification services. IRML facilitates the implementation of innovative investment strategies and removes many of the complexities required to ensure that portfolios continue to comply with pre-agreed product and risk profile as well as regulatory requirements.
IRML offers solutions ranging from portfolio risk compliance and advice on the risk management process (RMP) to identification of key risk indicators, independent pricing of derivatives, risk analysis and periodic reports, collateral monitoring, investment restrictions compliance, calculation and monitoring of the Synthetic Risk Reward Indicators (SRRI) as well as the full delegation of the permanent risk management function.
In existence since 2004, IRML has presence in London and Luxembourg, as well as in Dublin. It monitors portfolios for more than 40 clients on a daily basis. Its clients include, pension funds, insurance companies, asset management companies and banks. The portfolios monitored include segregated accounts, UCITS, and SIFS based in various European jurisdictions, including Germany, Luxembourg, Ireland and the UK. To strengthen its London team IRML is looking to hire a Data/Risk Analyst on a full-time permanent basis.
Your Role:
- Responsibility for the production and quality assurance of risk reports covering various types of risks (Market Risk, Liquidity risk etc.)
- Analysis and interpretation of risk numbers of specific portfolios as well as general market conditions
- Data Management of incoming client data and integration into IRML´s proprietary system
- Handling of assets (Mapping etc.) on multiple risk engines
- Handling of client requests and CRM
- Actively participate in the further development of our products (conceptual work, testing, etc.)
- The Job will be based in London, but overseas travel may be required occasionally
Your profile:
- University Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or similar highly numerate areas.
- Strong knowledge of quantitative concepts in Finance including Derivatives
- Understanding of the Fund Industry and latest European and Luxembourgish Legislation in this area (particularly related to risk, e.g. ESMA 10/788 or CSSF 11/512) would be an advantage.
- A first practical experience in the Financial Industry would be appreciated but is not essential
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic programming skills would be considered an asset (VBA, Matlab etc.)
- Bloomberg experience is an advantage
