Who we are looking for

The Regulatory Change team within the PwC Consulting Risk Group advises leading financial services organisations on a variety of regulatory and compliance issues. Our people work closely with client staff at all levels and bring insight and experience from both industry and regulators across the FS sectors. They are passionate about helping PwC's clients adapt to a changing regulatory environment in a commercial and strategic manner.

We are currently looking for experienced regulatory professionals to join our ever-growing team at the Senior Associate grade. We focus on three core areas:

Conduct risk:Ultimately, our clients are seeking to manage their conduct risk in an appropriate way and we help them to identify, understand and mitigate that risk. We are helping our clients to articulate the framework within which they manage conduct risk, identifying and assessing that risk, assisting their development of measurement methodologies including risk appetite, and supporting Board level decision making to deliver their desired customer outcomes. We work across all financial services industry sectors on conduct risk though primarily in banking.

Effective Compliance: Regulatory focus on compliance function effectiveness is driving the development of compliance standards. We assist our clients to design and implement effective compliance frameworks. This can include designing the framework, developing policies and procedures, and providing operational support.

Regulatory Change: Our clients are dealing with a great deal of change to the regulations under which they operate. We help our clients anticipate and understand the impact of that change on their business, and provide assistance with implementing change. In particular, we are looking for professionals with experience in capital markets regulatory change including EMIR, Dodd-Frank, and Mifid II.

This role will appeal to someone who is interested in being at the forefront of how the largest and most complex financial services institutions operate. We are looking for financial services professionals who bring insight and experience to our clients. Experience can be gained at an operational level in a financial services institution, either in regulatory role such as compliance, front office, or in other control and support functions. We also welcome those who have worked with the regulatory authorities or in consulting.

The role will be based in London; however as a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be required to work in all parts of the UK and continental Europe, sometimes at short notice and sometimes over lengthy periods of time.

At Senior Associate grade, the role consists of delivering projects for the client as part of a team. Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate that they can work effectively with a range of stakeholders and have technical strength in their chosen area. Requirements

The following skills are required for this role:

Essential skills:

*Degree educated or equivalent
*Experience within the financial services industry
*Excellent communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others
*Experience in working in a team environment; respecting and valuing all people and encouraging different perspectives
*Experience in building internal and external relationships and networks
*The ability to stay abreast of regulatory developments driving the industry and key issues affecting regulated firms so as to anticipate and understand the impact of such developments on clients
*The confidence and skill to interpret and discuss governance and regulatory principles with a range of stakeholders
*The ability to identify and address risk management issues
*The ability to plan and deliver work against tight deadlines

Relevant experience:

Senior Associates in the Regulatory Change Team draw experience from a broad range of backgrounds: from line roles in compliance and regulatory functions in industry, from the regulators, and from consulting. The essential skills for this role are:

*Experience in the financial services sector, within capital markets, investment banking, retail commercial banking, asset management, or insurance
*Experience of projects
*A good grasp of the current issues faced by regulated firms
The following skills are useful for this role:
*Experience within a Consulting or Accounting environment
*Experience of working on large, complex projects as part of a team

Desirable skills:

*Relevant professional qualifications are desirable but not essential
*Previous consulting experience desirable but not essential
