Risk Management Analytics (RMA) Sales Specialist recruitment

MSCI is seeking a Risk Management Sales Specialists, based in Toronto, to cover the Canadian market. MSCI Risk Management Sales Specialists are responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and developing new business within the Institutional Investor Client Segment (Corporate Public Plan Sponsors, Foundations Endowments, Soverign Wealth Funds and Family Wealth Offices). The salesperson will be responsible for selling our Barra and RiskMetrics brand risk tools (BarraOne, RiskManager, Aegis, Barra Portfolio Manager). The role entails positioning and closing sales of quantitative investment decision support tools. These tools are used by Institutional Investors to oversee and manage the risk of the plan across their external investments, across all asset classes or to manage the risk of their internally managed portfolios. The tools include multi-factor risk models, portfolio optimization tools and performance attribution software. Sales Specialists use their knowledge of the investment management process, modern portfolio theory, and risk management theory to identify solutions using MSCI tools for their clients. This role is a highly visible one, with involvement in all aspects of client relationship management, product demonstrations, contract negotiation, sales closing, product setup and delivery. In this role, individuals will work very closely with global Client Service, Client Consultants, Marketing, Product Management, and Finance / Billing departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Achieve Quarterly Annual Sales Targets
- Ensure retention of all current clients
- Present to Senior Level Client audience(Chief Investment Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Investment Board)
- Develop Risk Management Framework with clients
- New Product Placement
- Answer detailed client inquiries about MSCI Inc. products and methodologies
- Attend relevant industry events
- Work with other departments (Client service, Product Management, Legal, etc) to ensure that all client requests / inquiries are managed appropriately
- Proactively solicit client feedback regarding new initiatives and future product development

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Strong sales closing skills
- Strong analytic and quantitative skills
- Understanding and comfort working with and demonstrating software applications
- Superior communication and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
- Understanding of / experience dealing with major international institutions including - Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Pension Plans, and Consultants
- Strong understanding of the global equity and fixed income markets
- A self starter and highly motivated; ability to work individually and within a team
- Thorough understanding of the Investment Management Process
- Minimum of 3-5 years sales experience with a proven record of accomplishment.
- 5-10 years of experience in the financial service industry
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA, Masters Degree and/or CFA or FRM preferred
- Extensive travel to client sites.
