Position Description:
Based in Beijing, this role would represent Morgan Stanley's regional credit risk management team in the Firm's China domestic operations, including but not limited to Morgan Stanley Bank International China (MSBIC). This role will report directly into the Firm's China Chief Risk Officer. Ideal candidate would logically support a broader range of businesses as they are rolled out through different platforms in China.

Primary functions:

- Work closely with Sales/Traders/Deal Teams and Asia Pacific regional credit to structure proposals that are acceptable from a Firm risk perspective.
- Review/diligence loan/investment proposals put forward by the business units, write credit reviews with MS risk standard.
- To conduct client calls, perform independent research and to establish credit rating of Chinese counterparties where MS has / will have loan/derivative risk exposure.
- To prepare loan review memos for internal credit signoff/approvals.
- To review and approve Chinese counterparties' onshore/offshore derivatives transactions, and prepare credit review for active/potential counterparties while assigning credit limits.
- To review and approve loan/derivative documentation with counterparties to ensure strong credit term protection.
- To conduct annual reviews and monitor portfolio quality on an ongoing basis and recommend rating actions / asset classifications etc.
- To support credit risk related regulatory requests and policy documents for MSBIC and if required, the Firm's other China platforms.

Skills Required:
- At least 5 years of credit analysis experience in the financial services industry.
- Corporate focused; loan / derivative experience essential. Strong credit analysis skills and extensive industry knowledge about Chinese corps.
- China credit risk experience necessary and preferred with existing delegated credit authority.
- Familiar with loan and derivative documents (ISDA/CSA/NAFMII).
- English and Mandarin language skills essential.
- Those currently residing outside of Beijing should be prepared for relocating to Beijing at their own cost.
