Risk Manager, Model Validation and Management recruitment
The position reports to Sr. Manager, Non-retail and Operational Risk Model Validation group within MVM. Detailed accountabilities include:
Overview/Responsibilities
- Validate Operational Risk models and quantitative models for Non-retail Credit Risk in Canada and the U.S., including internal risk rating systems, credit parameters, general allowances, economic capital, and stress testing.
- Develop/implement validation methodologies and standards. Ensure that the validation methodologies and standards are in line with industry best practice or address regulatory and audit requirements and/or findings in a timely manner
- Develop and apply a variety of statistical and modelling techniques to identify/recommend improvements to models and undertake related initiatives.

Test and evaluate external models used for benchmarking internal model performance. Participate in model selection and related due diligence activity

Actively participate with business partners in internal data management to ensure data integrity and the completeness of data capture for model validation and development purpose, as well as meet Baselrequirements on data capture and retention.
- The position must work effectively with Credit Risk Model Group (CRMG), Model Development (MD) group in Trading Risk, Operational Risk Management, Audit, Corporate Segment Technology Solution (CSTS) Group, and other internal partners toensure the accuracy of models usedin TDBG.
Qualifications/Competencies Accreditation:
- Strong quantitative skills with a graduate degree in one or more of the following areas: statistics, economics, and mathematics,with at least 3-4 years of experience in quantitative analysis.
- Experience in model development or validation with an advanced knowledge of statistical analysis techniques, stochastic process and parameter calibration.
- Proficient programming skills in C++, Matlab and statistical software such as R
- Good risk acumen/judgment for understanding the appropriateness of different types of quantification methods and their potential strengths and weaknesses
- Well-developed project management, interpersonal, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills
