POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education/including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:
Current licensure California RN. Must have current American Heart Association BLS-HCPC recognition or Greater Sacramento Region -Healthcare CPR. Current ACLS recognition required. Current PALS required.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BS preferred.
Knowledge:
Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills. In depth knowledge of nursing process in assessment of physical and psychosocial, psychological needs of patients.
Experience:
Strong Emergency department experience preferred. Six (6) months nursing experience preferred. Certified Emegency Nursing certification preferred.
Skills:
In depth knowledge of nursing process in assessment of physical, psychosocial and psychological needs of patients. Aware of adult learning principles in providing teaching of patients and families. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Must have problem-solving skills.
