About the Job

The Alpine Fireside Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse/ Charge Nurse(s). The registered nurse will ensure and provide the highest quality resident care while fulfilling our mission "Family taking of Family" and maintaining a safe and friendly work environment for staff, residents, and visitors. Our registered nurse will follow established policies and procedures and assist DON or ADON by efficient assessment, reporting and documentation.

Essential Functions of the registered nurse include:
-Effectively work as a member of the Alpine Fireside team through open communications with other employees, staff, residents, visitors, public, and volunteers;
-Make team rounds on a regular basis to observe and evaluate resident's physical and emotional needs. Reports to DON and or ADON;
- Assists DON, ADON, or charge nurse with assessment and documentation on new admissions; ;
- Encourages and assists staff to perform restorative nursing programs daily;
-Participate in staff meetings, in-services and other facility activities as assigned;
- Keeps appraised of the developments in nursing practice;
- Follows universal precautions;
-Collects specimens, take vital signs and documents on the medical record;
-Assures good resident care-bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, hair care, nail care, oral hygiene---through supervision and deliverance as needed;
-reports current status of residents to DON, ADON, physician, and /or residents (includes monitoring IVs, administering medication and treatments, and/or any difficulties)
-performs other duties as assigned within the role and scope of practice of the licensed registered nurse.

Requirements:
Graduation from a state approved school for registered nurse or of practical nursing.
-Eligible for licensure in Illinois.
The perfect candidate will:
-Provide services in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and regulations that define scope of practice. Primary responsibility is to provide nursing care for the residents
-Participate in assessing, implementing and evaluating the nursing care plan according to the interdisciplinary team care plan.
-Reinforce the DON's or ADON's education to residents about nursing care, infection control and issues related to their comorbidity.

The perfect candidate should have the ability to:
-Walk and push medication cart to patient rooms and perform essential job functions.
-Communicate verbally and in writing in English the language.
-Read normal and condensed print.
-Hear normal conversation in person and via telephone.
-Lift and move patients and equipment.
