Route Sales Representative Job in South Bend, Indiana US

Since 1951, we've been bringing our traditional family baking to you.

Only a few years after arriving in the Canada from the Netherlands in 1948, teenage brothers Bill and Harry Voortman set out with a modest goal of being self-employed and carrying on in their family's baking tradition. In 1951, Bill and Harry started by baking traditional Dutch pumpernickel and honey cake in a rented back room of a house in Hamilton, Ontario and selling their products door to door. Their limited success, mostly among the Dutch immigrant community, encouraged them to persevere.

After experimenting with different types of pies and donuts, customers were excited when the Voortman brothers started baking their first cookies. With success comes growth, and in 1956, Bill and Harry moved their operation to a larger facility in Burlington, Ontario, where they started to develop new tastes and greater varieties for their growing number of loyal customers.

With more varieties and a growing distribution network, Voortman Cookies was quickly gaining a reputation for baking unique and exceptionally great tasting cookies

The 1970's and 1980's proved to be a time of explosive growth for Voortman with the introduction of the fruit filled turnovers as well as the self - serve "Cookie Huts". The late 1990's was highlighted by the success of Sugar Free Wafers, preparing the way for a whole new line of Sugar Free Cookies to follow.

In the fall of 2003, Voortman announced plans to eliminate Trans Fats from all Voortman products. This goal was achieved by April 2004, making Voortman the first North American food manufacturer to completely eliminate Trans Fats from all of its products, and making their cookies taste better than ever at the same time.

Today, Voortman continues it's tradition of making great tasting, and now "Healthier Choice" snacks with the introduction of a growing selection of Flax Seed Omega 3 and Sugar Free products.
