Job Summary

The Safety Security Coordinator is responsible for developing, planning and managing CPI Card Group environmental, health and safety programs, including the implementation of those programs to ensure employee safety and compliance with local, state and federal regulations.  In addition, this position will assist with operation and management of physical security systems and processes. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversees the development, management and implementation of CPI Card Group safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state and federal agencies.
  2. Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to minimize potential loss exposures; recommend risk control techniques to eliminate or minimize loss; monitor risk management initiatives to ensure ongoing effectiveness.   
  3. Assist in the management of physical plant security including internal and external audits; coordinating response actions related to the operation of security equipment and development of security countermeasures related to vulnerability of CPI Card Group and customer assets.               
  4. Develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and
    recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
  5. Oversees on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities.
  6. Coordinates the annual Safety budget and assists in the development of capital expenditure budgets related to environmental, health and safety programs; develops and justifies budget requests.
  7. Oversees and manages the response to and investigation of reports of hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions; reviews recommendations and/or takes appropriate action in order to mitigate potential safety, health and environmental risks.
  8. Oversees the development and presentation of environmental, health and safety training programs.
  9. Ensure environmental, health and safety code compliance by interacting with departments that purchase equipment or coordinate services; provide recommendations and remedial actions as appropriate.          
  10. Track and review workers compensation claims to ensure they are reported in a timely fashion and are in compliance with policies and procedures.
  11. Act as a liaison between contracted Guard Services and CPI.  This includes training all new guard personnel, periodic training, coordinate scheduling of Guard Service and be point of contact for Guard Service issues.

 

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Safety related field or 3+ years experience in a Safety related position.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of constituencies
  4. Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government
  5. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and  developing and implementing strategies and procedures
  6. Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols and procedures
  7. Knowledge of chemical, hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, ergonomic and or environmental health standards
  8. Ability to work independently and with a group
  9. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  10. Ability to develop, implement and enforce safety programs and protocols.
  11. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
