EHS Safety Representative III
BASIC FUNCTION: Conducts high level health, safety and environmental assignments including training for the Company under minimal supervision. May direct or lead the work of others from time-to-time. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA). Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures a safe environment for employees and the general public. Conducts safety meetings. Promotes public awareness (pipeline safety meetings). Maintains compliance regulations and MSDS sheets if needed, may issue hot work and confined space permits and constantly deals with regulatory and environmental issues. Maintains safety and incident response equipment, fire protection equipment and facility breathing air equipment. Manages and supervises training programs for employees and contractors. May coordinate emergency response teams for the facility. May coordinate annual safety and fire inspections. May develop and implement facility health, safety and environmental policies and procedures. May provide consultation and recommendations for safety, fire protection and emergency response issues. May oversee and survey compliance to Policy and Procedures relating to safety and develop and implement policies and procedures for compliance with OSHA regulations. May assist field management with loss control efforts including hazard assessment and control, compliance assessments and establishment of behavioral safety systems. May identify and select hazardous waste contractors. May conduct incident investigations as related to safety or environmental. May keep required DOT/OSHA records on accidents. May maintain and process all environmental reporting including related inspections, etc. Must be available for travel to Company locations when necessary (can be up to 50% of time). May monitor and manage environmental remediation projects. May provide safety coverage for vacations, absences and other special projects. Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion. EXPERIENCE: 7 or more years of on the job experience in oil and gas industry related field are required. EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: A minimum of a Bachelors degree or years of experience equivalent is required. Certifications in CSP, PE, CIH are preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS: Intermediate knowledge of occupational safety and industrial hygiene, and ability to apply this knowledge. Special training/Certifications in Industrial Safety, Hazard Assessment, Air Monitoring, Workers Compensation, HAZWOPER, etc. preferred. Satisfactory completion of a comprehensive medical physical examination. Understanding of Safety Practices basics and application of Safety Policies, and Procedures for field activities. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook Excel. SUPERVISORY/MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: None. May direct or lead the work of others from time-to-time. WORK CONDITIONS: Office and field based. Outdoor duties under wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. Industrial environment, including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks and rotating equipment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Job conditions may require lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting, climbing up to 50 ft or the height of a tank, and bending. In some locations, must be available for weekend and after hour call-outs. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and respirator as needed. No Beards. Ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential inability to maintain standard insurance rates is grounds for dismissal. Valid State drivers license and proof of insurance required.
