Sales & Account Manager, Financials recruitment
Role Purpose
The Sales Account Manager, Financials key role is to develop and manage relationships with key clients in the financials sector, as well as to identify new clients, for the purpose of:
• Retaining and increasing sales, as well as profitability, of Wood Mackenzie research products and multi-client studies;
• Developing networks that deepen the Company’s understanding of clients’ needs and future research requirements;
• Proactively gain feedback on Wood Mackenzie products in order to contribute to the future development of our services;
• Identifying and facilitating consultancy sales opportunities.
The role is high-profile both internally and externally and influential in Wood Mackenzie achieving its business goals.
Main Responsibilities
• Develop, co-ordinate and implement Client Business Plans reflecting the size and importance of potential opportunities;
• Maximize sales and profitability of energy, coal and metals products in line with targets set by Sales Management;
• Ensure that each client relationship and interaction with Wood Mackenzie is well co-ordinated across sales and support, training, research and consultancy;
• Efficiently and effectively serve client needs, or co-ordinate such high levels of service, in conjunction with Client Training, Client Services, Consulting or Research teams as appropriate;
• Ensure that there is a high level of communication regarding client relationships, issues and sales successes internally;
• Facilitate the closure of consultancy sales opportunities with the appropriate Consulting team;
• Develop networks in order to identify and develop future sales opportunities.
Knowledge and Experience Required
The role demands strong relationship management skills, the ability to make senior level presentations, strong negotiation and selling skills as well as a results oriented mindset.
Whilst reporting to the Head of Financials Client Management, the role holder must be capable of working autonomously - delivering research product demonstrations, creating sales opportunities, developing and closing deals independently.
The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of the energy industry, experience in the Investment Banking industry, and knowledge of the kind of products and services that Wood Mackenzie develops and sells. He/she would also ideally have 3+ years experience of working within a consultative sales environment and a demonstrable track-record versus challenging sales targets and Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline.
