Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Comprehensive analytical skills and analysis of sales performance, trends, competition and market conditions to create monthly reports, identify risks and opportunities, and support corrective actions for business decision making by Leadership and the specific Market Segment Team.
- Comprehensive validation and review of enrollment in the Enterprise Data Warehouse on a monthly basis to approve results prior to release of data to the organization. Includes deep understanding and analysis of specific business segment(s), new sales and renewal activity, business rules and trends.
- Conduct monthly enrollment forecasting with analysis of sales and marketing activity, trends, product, geography, capabilities and funding type working in conjunction with Sales Leadership and the Market Segment Team. This analysis feeds the financial re-projection process.
- Collaboration, coordination, communication and relationship management with business partners, i.e. sales and sales leadership, finance, marketing, Market Segment Teams, operations, senior leadership and local presence in order to attain cross sectional information relevant to performance and growth insight.
- Strategic analysis for decision support regarding a particular primary market segment specific to all dimensionality of segment, geography, product, funding type, etc. to include data mining, modeling and other analytics/concepts.
- Review of pertinent segment strategies, industry and competitive analysis.
- Comprehensive understanding of segment positioning via support and/or participation on market segment teams or applicable committees.
- Consultative review of enrollment, sales activity and product performance with business partners, particularly Sales and Market Segment leadership.
- Utilize forecasting tools to perform scenario and ad-hoc analysis as deemed necessary.
- Other duties deemed necessary, which includes ad-hoc reporting and analytical requests from key areas in the organization.
- Moderate to heavy keying required
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent
- 5 years of successful, progressive analytical and data mining experience.
- Experience with scenario modeling and forecasting techniques
- Experience in relating business trends to company strategies and objectives
- Experience creating queries and utilizing reporting tools within an enterprise data warehouse (EDW).
- Intermediate to Advanced level Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Skills.
- Experience communicating and presenting detailed business and analytical findings in a clear and concise way to all levels of leadership.
Business Specific Criteria (preferred skills):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, accounting, finance or healthcare administration or other related degree
- Experience in the health insurance industry and more specifically sales forecasting, reporting and analysis
- Broad working knowledge of BCBSFL systems and operations, applications, and technology.
