Sales Engineer

 

Merrick Systems is one of the top 50 technology companies in Houston, TX. Merrick is focused on technology solutions for companies in the upstream oil gas. We are seeking a sales engineer to work on our production operations software sales. Reports to VP Sales in our Houston office.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

§         Plan and modify product configurations to meet new prospective customer needs.

§         Confer with customers and product managers to assess software needs and to determine system requirements.

§         Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.

§         Work with sales team and implementation team to secure and renew orders and arrange delivery.

§         Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.

§         Sell products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for installation and use of software.

§         Recommend software to customers, documenting how such software will lower costs or increase production.

§         Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers.

§         After sales are complete coordinate smooth transition with implementation team.

§         Help prepare presentation slides, load software and prepare demonstrations.

§         Handle technical product questions from prospective clients and sale staff.

§         Participate in tradeshows and sales related events as needed.

§         Travel up to 50%

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

§         Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology

§         2 years of related experience
