Sales Engineer

Responsible for supporting the sales team in selling and promoting products and services. Support includes developing the expertise to effectively demonstrate our products and services to prospective and existing customers. This person assists in quoting, configuring, proposing, and presenting solutions in conjunction with and/or at the direction of the sales team. This position may also provide installation and/or implementation services as a back-up for Technical Services Team. The Sales Engineer also works with marketing and the sales team to develop sales tools to assist our resellers in learning and presenting the solution portfolio. Included in these activities are regular web-based seminars to resellers and customers. In addition, this position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services.

Primary Responsibilities
*Incorporate quality and continuous improvement as part of overall job performance; adhering to policies and procedures
*Work closely with RSDs and resellers to provide internal and external technical support and training during pre and post sales of products and solution packages
*Provide documents for engineering and architectural firms to use for preparing specs that favor equipment
*Interface at all levels within a customers organization and coordinate highly technical information, business proposals and emerging requirements
*Assist sales in the preparation of quotations and proposals
*Research to determine customer needs and develop application of product and services
*Work closely with RSD Team to continuously increase the prospective pipeline
*Provide feedback to Product Manager of emerging customer requirements and new vertical markets
*Gather, analyze, and share customer technical information and feedback
*Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments
*Provide remote and on-site support as needed working with Implementation, TAC, and resellers
*Travel time will often be in excess of 75% during a given month
*Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
Education:
Bachelors degree in engineering or technical field or related experience
Skills:
Strong computer skills with knowledge in MS Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio
Professional written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
Ability to convey information clearly to help customer make buying decisions
Ability to document complex issues in simple terms
Aptitude to determine the most important benefits and articulate the value of our solutions
Experience:
5 years engineering or technical experience; sales support experience preferred
Wireless LAN industry experience and VoIP experience preferred
CCNA or equivalent certification preferred
