 Role

To develop significant new business as well as protect existing business from key London relationships including, global wealth management firms, stockbrokers, selected family offices and top-end IFAs.

Responsibilities

To deliver significant and profitable asset growth

Purpose:

• To deliver a broad mix of new business across a list of agreed accounts

• To create and manage a sales plan to deliver the mix and volume of business required by the business plan

• To build and foster relationships with the ultimate goal of achieving a prominent and commercially strong position within the London retail market.

Tasks:

• To prospect and open up new relationships with targeted accounts with the aim of becoming a ‘trusted adviser’ within the London retail market

• Carry out a good mix of meetings with key clients, communication of a proper understanding of their business objectives and a clear willingness from them to commit to working with the firm.

To build the firm’s brand

Purpose:

• To identify and exploit all opportunities to build the firm’s brand

Tasks:

• To question and understand the business objectives from a target list of clients and contribute to business planning for the correct fit of funds and identify potential new products as appropriate

• Working with the head of UK Intermediary sales and with the support of the marketing team to maximise the position of the firm in their marketing campaigns ensuring significant brand exposure in the core target market.

Management information

Purpose:

• To build a monthly report to allow the business to track the development of this key business area.

Performance Indicators

• A demonstrable understanding of the firm’s long-term business plan and a clear method of presenting that to existing and potential clients

• A solidly building flow of business into a broad mix of the firm’s products

• Good management of business retention with no surprise outflows

• A good understanding of the broader market developments and communication of that within the firm to help future planning.

Person specification

• Qualified to Degree level

• Hold IMC or similar qualifications

• Reasonable experience in sales with strong knowledge of Asset Management

• Investment product knowledge and understanding of competitive landscape

• Strong, maintained relationships within sales environment

• Currently working in a similar role, ready to take more responsibility

• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

• Excellent organisational skills

• Strong negotiator

• Ability to deal with senior and junior people equally

• A full understanding of product wrappers including SIPP, PEP, ISA, Bonds, Closed-Ended and open ended investment schemes

• Energetic, enthusiastic and positive outlook

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work on own initiative/self starter

• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people, representing at all times the best interests of the firm, its products, services and people

• Willingness to take responsibility
