Sales – Senior Director

Description

As part of the CME Group Client Development and Sales (CDS) Team, the Senior Director – Commercials will be responsible for sales, education and marketing of new and current CME products and services to commercial customers. This individual will leverage and work with the Business Line Management (BLM) team across all asset classes. This position is accountable for conducting sales calls with customers, speaking at education/seminar events and executing a sales strategy.

This position will report to the Managing Director, CDS - Commercials/Corporates and focus on contacting and developing relationships with key commercial customers. In addition, this position will promote the distribution of CME Direct (CME's electronic trading platform) to clients beginning with the energy space, and other asset classes as they become available.

This position will be located in NYC, NY.

Principal Responsibilities

• Identify and build relationships with key decision makers at targeted commercials and close transactions that generate meaningful revenue.

• Increase distribution of trading platform to commercials as well as generate additional usage inside each organization.

• Offer in-depth knowledge and understanding of futures, options and derivative trading strategies.

• Educate existing and prospective customers about the value proposition of doing business with the CME Group.

• Assist in the brokerage and banking community to help expand our customer base.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Minimum of 7 to 10 years experience in commodity futures and options markets

• Strong sales and marketing skills with demonstrated track record of delivering results.

• Expertise in framing problems, developing solutions and closing transactions.

• Ability to cross-sell all asset classes to include Energy, Metals, Agriculture, Interest Rates, and FX.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Desired

• 5+ years experience in the U.S. Natural Gas and/or Power Industry

• Deep rolodex with client relationships in the natural gas and power markets.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. natural gas and power physical markets and/or derivative trading.

• Exposure to and understanding of front-end trading systems.

This position will require the ability to travel (up to 50%).
