SUMMARY

This is an entry-level opportunity in the sales group with key customer account interaction. Strong interpersonal skills, computer proficiency, attention to detail, and strong math skills are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

·       Acts as liaison between customers and company.

·       Develop existing new relationships with customers.

·       Receives and analyzes incoming correspondence and gathers necessary data to formulate replies.

·       Insures prompt and efficient processing of customer orders and requests for quotation.

·       Issue formal quotations and follows up with customer to gather market feedback.

·       Maintains contact with plant personnel to insure that customer requirements are met.

·       Supplies outside sales representatives with pertinent information concerning customer activity.

·       Acts as customer contact regarding pricing, order status, quality, scheduling shipping.

·       Informs management of pricing levels, competition activities and market conditions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·       Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university is strongly preferred; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·       Prior experience within a manufacturing organization

·       Knowledge of the metals or aerospace industry is helpful

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret purchase order terms conditions, technical requirements, governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports professional business correspondence.  Ability to effectively communicate to managers, clients, and internal customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, fractions, percentages, area and volume.  Knowledge of metric conversion is necessary.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
