Sales Team Leader
Our client is a leading independent Ecommerce marketplace throughout Europe and they are searching for an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Team Leader. The successful Sales Team Leader will be expected to not only directly manage a team of sales managers but also to recruit merchants. The successful Sales Team Leader will be in charge of mentoring and developing the sales managers skills to meet and surpass their targets.
Responsibilities
- Working with the sales team’s assigned pipeline list to hit quarterly acquisition targets, through recruiting new merchants onto the Marketplace platform, via direct contact, telephone and email as necessary.
- Allocating leads among the team and setting and managing quarterly individual targets.
- Developing, coaching and mentoring team of Sales Managers to facilitate their success both against their target and in general for the client.
- Employing successful sales strategies to maximise the win rates from prospects to fully implemented accounts.
- Researching and qualifying potential prospects to grow your individual and team pipeline, always focussing on maximising sales achievements.
- Working closely with the client’s Category Teams to identify gaps and opportunities, and bring on board new accounts to strengthen the total client’s offering.
- Increasing the sales funnel conversion by working to improve the process (from pitch, to objection handling, to agreement, to closure, to implementation) and taking ownership of removing barriers to progression throughout the recruitment process.
- Owning the process of new account acquisition to the client’s Marketplace from prospecting and tracking through to sign up.
- Working closely with E-Commerce Consultants to handover recruited accounts and also to identify new business opportunities.
- Performing ad-hoc duties (such as researching new product categories) as required by senior staff..
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a sales, recruitment or business development role.
- People management – preferably within a Sales or Telesales team.
- Experience managing team targets and KPIs.
- High level of commercial awareness with ability to understand and work with a wide variety of business models.
- Results driven with proven experience of delivering growth through planning and execution.
- Experience of presenting to contacts and explaining technical concepts.
- Passion for internet and online shopping.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills with ability to demonstrate achievement of growth and results.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present information verbally in writing to a wide range of audiences, including merchants and internal/external customers.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to analyse information and apply to achieve commercial success.
- Strong Excel skills with good knowledge of IT systems (Word, Outlook and Access) to produce documentation, presentations and reports.
- Commitment to continuous development of the Merchant experience.

- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
- Experience within a retail or e-commerce environment.
