Sales & Trading Graduate Recruitment Manager recruitment
This role is Director level (AVP equivalent). The Sales and Trading division includes Equities, Fixed Income, Fixed Income Research and Prime Brokerage.
This person will work closely with the Sales Trading Recruitment Committee to develop and deliver a comprehensive graduate recruiting service to support the effective recruitment of the divisions summer, off-cycle and full-time analysts. In conjunction with the EMEA Head of Front Office Graduate Recruitment and Learning Development, they will also assist with the management and execution of the Sales Trading Analyst Training Programmes.
Attraction Recruitment Strategy
In partnership and close collaboration with the Sales Trading Recruitment Committee:
• Implement and execute a successful and comprehensive attraction and recruiting strategy for the division for all relevant programmes across the entire region.
• Determine overall hiring and staffing requirements and monitor progress throughout the recruiting season in close collaboration with the recruitment committee.
• Monitor programme hiring needs to formulate a division specific strategy that meets all business unit requirements.
• Work with the relevant Sales Trading school teams and brand managers on raising the divisions profile at target campuses and attracting the right talent to apply.
• Support the Sales Trading school teams with identifying, planning and executing divisional marketing events to actively promote the division and identify potential hires.
• Effectively partner with school teams to manage referrals and ones to watch identified at events and through early pipelining initiatives to ensure greater return on investment.
• Partner with the Diversity team to determine the divisional strategy and monitor return on investment throughout the season.
• Chair the relevant business led Graduate Recruiting Committee, partnering with the committee members to drive the attraction and recruitment strategy to ensure it continues to evolve.
• Ensure successful marketing of the graduate and intern programmes across the division and further develop the internal recruiting culture and increase business participation.
Selection Reporting
In partnership and close collaboration with the Sales Trading Recruitment Committee:
• Manage and oversee the divisions screening and selection process and ensure it accommodates best practice, business and candidate needs.
• Manage and direct the divisional school teams throughout the recruit cycle.
• Manage and track the Sales Trading analyst events and recruitment budget.
• Compile quarterly and year end statistics including hit ratio, cost analysis, diversity reporting and declines analysis.
• Oversee the involvement of line representatives in the events and recruiting process, ensuring the most adequate resources are deployed to help market the division on campus and recruit graduates.
• Ensure the business is trained in interviewing best practices and closely monitor hiring decisions.
• Manage and attend interview and assessment centre days, oversee hiring decision roundtable discussions.
Programme Management
In partnership and close collaboration with the Sales Trading Recruitment Committee:
• Partner with our Training Development function on the design and execution of the relevant analyst training programmes.
• Develop the content and structure of all Sales Trading related intern and early pipelining programmes. This includes managing the performance review process and end of programme related hiring decisions.
Additional Responsibilities
• Coach direct reports throughout the planning and execution of the season.
• Keep up to date with current and impeding legislation, developments and changes in the graduate market and propose changes to current graduate recruiting policies and practices across ST.
• Keep Head of Front Office Graduate Recruitment and HR Coverage up to date with developments in Sales Trading as season progresses, bringing any issues to managements’ attention.
• Identify operational synergies across Front Office and partner with other ISG Recruiters for greater ROI and cost efficiencies.
• Collaborate with global counterparts to execute global projects and initiatives.
• Undertake projects and ad hoc responsibilities as required.
Skills Required
• A solid understanding of the graduate recruitment landscape (education system, qualifications, skill set requirements by division, etc).
• An understanding of the product landscape across Sales Trading or any other ISG related function as well as an understanding of the overall MS Firm strategy.
• Ability to apply strong judgment to all situations, pre-empting problems before they escalate.
• Strong diplomacy and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to work with numerous constituencies to gather information and opinions, generate buy-in and implement actions.
