Sales Vice President and Regional Director, Intermediary Channel

Altegris is in a very exciting growth phase and is searching for a talented and motivated Vice President and Regional Director for the intermediary sales channels in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. The right candidate must have the temperament to thrive in our high-velocity, demanding business culture and enjoy interacting with high-octane, committed co-workers who enjoy working together, value collaboration, and are passionate about providing our clients with access to what we believe are some of the best investment managers in the alternatives industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business management: As a Regional Director, you are entrusted with managing and growing a very important territory for our firm. Our Regional Directors have the unique opportunity to work with advisors across multiple channels (Wirehouses, Regional and Independent Broker Dealers, RIAs) and to offer an array of sophisticated alternatives through two platforms - mutual funds and private placements. A successful candidate will know how to maximize such an opportunity by directing effort against the areas of greatest opportunity
- Effective execution of the sales process: We employ a partnership business model in which each Regional Director is paired with an internal Regional Consultant. A successful candidate will be able to employ an integrated sales process to profile high-potential opportunities, shorten the sales cycle against those, and provide high-touch client service to up-sell, cross-sell and retain assets
- Alternative-Investment Knowledge: A successful candidate will be or become a subject-matter expert in alternative strategies, their role in portfolios, and how to position them with end investors
- Travel: Because we have large territories, the role requires travel within the territory at least 4 and up to 5 days a week
REQUIREMENT
- 5+ years of verifiable sales success wholesaling mutual funds and/or proprietary private placements
- Extensive experience and relationships with Wirehouses, Banks, RIAs and Regional/Independent Broker-Dealer advisors in the territory
- Strong ability to analyze asset-allocation strategies
- Knowledge of alternative investments
- Outstanding presentation skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Residency in the territory
- Bachelor’s degree
- Series 7 (or a combination of 6 and 22) FINRA License
PREFERRED
- Established relationships with Merrill Lynch, UBS, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LPL, Commonwealth and Cambridge
- Managed futures and/or hedge-fund experience
- Series 3 (or 31) NFA License
- CAIA, CIMA, CFA
