Sanctions Advisor

My client are a Middle Eastern Commercial Bank, who seek a Sanctions advisor who is familiar with using the Fircosoft system.

You will be assisting the Head of Sanctions in the management of sanctions risk, particularly given that they are exposed to Trade and Lending activities across a network of high-risk North African and Middle Eastern countries.

The Role:

Ensuring that the bank stays within Sanctions regulation outlined by UK, EU and OFAC guidelines. The nature of their business and scope of the coverage places sanctions at the heart of their Financial Crime programme, and the successful candidate will need strong regulatory knowledge.

The main responsibilities include:
1. To approve daily transactions from a sanctions perspective for all trades booked by the Bank
2. To assist the Head of the Sanctions team in creating an effective control framework and internal policy book for Sanctions management
3. To provide guidance to new or junior members of staff on applying Financial Crime legislation to all bank activity
4. To be involved in the ongoing development of the Division and contribute to positive change

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have strong experience using the Fircosoft system, preferably with experience of Trade Finance/International Payments/Commercial Banking.
