Sanctions Manager and Sanctions Officer
As the sanctions manager you will:
- Manage in conjunction with the local Europe Sanctions Officers Sanctions Risk
- Provide technical advice and guidance on Sanctions related projects to the in-country sanctions teams
- Record and report Sanctions matches escalated from the in-country sanctions teams to Group, ensuring compliance with legal requirements
- Submit Sanctions breaches to Group for approval
- Submit customer and payment exceptions to Group for approval
- Submit for approval to Group, dispensations and waivers escalated from in-country teams which assess legal-regulatory impact and compliance with the Sanctions policy.
- Maintain and oversee Sanctions policy implementation
- Provide thought leadership on Sanctions related issues to sanctions in-country teams.
- Oversee Implementation of the Group defined Sanctions strategy
- Responsible for ensuring that local versions of the Sanctions policy and procedures are updated and implemented as and when required by Group.
- Provide advice to the operational Sanctions screening teams in continuing to maintain the appropriate tuning of the Sanctions screening systems and then updating the policy and procedures accordingly
- Provide day to day advice on Sanctions policy matters to the in-country sanctions teams and support them in providing advice relating to customers
Essential
- Expertise in at least one of the following languages is preferable although not essential; French, Spanish, Italian and-or Portuguese.
Ability to explain clearly and succinctly the importance of sanctions controls to a variety of stakeholders.
Essential
- Excellent understanding ofbroad jurisdictional sanctions laws, regulations, regulatory expectations and industry best practice
- Knowledge of Global Sanctions regimes and requirements and AML regulations
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in a regulated firm in the financial crime area.
