Role Summary/Purpose
To provide SAP Basis technical leadership function to manage and operate a dynamic SAP implementation. This role will provide the stewardship for all Basis functions and work with various teams to manage a high level of service for the SAP system.
Essential Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for providing governance and technical expertise for managing a world class SAP solution that caters to constantly changing business needs from SAP Basis, infrastructure perspective. The role requires collaborating with the project teams, technical and support groups to deliver to defined Service levels for the business.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Serve as a Lead integrator to the functional business teams for technical services provided by the BASIS team, the infrastructure team and vendors/other service providers
Collaborate with team to determine strategy and plan for system implementations and upgrades
Leads effort to develop technical standards to support and operate technologies within the system landscape
Develops methodologies and practices to manage and plan system capacity based on projected growth rate to ensure system performance remains at acceptable levels
Contributes to the development of strategies and methodologies to manage the system’s lifecycle program in terms of ensuring compliance with vendor release
Defines the processes and procedures necessary to operate and monitor the technical environments
Implement and support enterprise applications in a global environment
Assist in creation and maintenance of processes, procedures and techniques to improve performance and maintainability of SAP applications and systems, including architecture diagrams and technical specifications
Provide Leadership for the supported applications including but not limited to Technology Upgrades, Disaster Recovery, Capacity Optimization, Root Cause fixes Long term system stabilization
Work with various teams on broader technology initiatives like upgrades, security resolutions, decommission and other corporate wide activities
Assist with SOX and ISO compliance for SAP application
Participate in business process evaluation/improvement activities, and provide expertise in requirements gathering, design, development, test, and system implementation
Produce documented application frameworks or architectures
Provide input into the technology plan for the IT organization, and ensure that plans for their assigned applications integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure
Support, advise, assist guide and resolve problems for client users
Work as a business partner with client users to evaluate / improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions
Conform to system architecture standards and practices and work with outsourced suppliers as required to keep up to date with enabling technologies
Participate in the evaluation/implementation of third party software solutions
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in the application of information technologies to business solutions)
At least 3 additional years of experience with current information technologies and their influence on business functions
Minimum 3 years of experience in SAP Basis Administration, technical support of SAP ERP system and emphasis on SAP application modules, interfaces, ABAP, ALE, iDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and Workflows
Desired Characteristics
Candidates who have obtained a SAP BASIS Certification are highly desired
Technical experience to manage and support SAP including general Basis Administration, Work Bench Organizer, Data Dictionary, Transport Management system, Client Strategy, System Landscape and On-line Support System
Experience administering SAP system in a SOX-controlled environment
Solution Manager experience is a plus
Knowledge of technical infrastructure, Networking and system operations
Knowledge of Hardware capacity planning and high availability solutions
Load balancing across complex SAP Landscapes and integrated SAP products
Experience in Best practices for performance tuning
Designing, documenting, executing and reviewing appropriate Change Management processes associated with SAP environments
Working in matrix organization and global delivery model
Knowledge of ITIL service delivery methodology
Strong knowledge of end-to-end SDLC infrastructure architecture
Technical project management over enterprise solutions
Knowledge of architecture and design patterns
Established project management abilities
Proven analytical and problem resolution skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership Skills
