SAS BI Architect recruitment

 Architecting and implementing high quality, Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions using company approved tools such as SAS Enterprise. Must be aware of migration and implementation plans that address both tactical and strategic needs.

Define and govern BI application and data warehouse best practices and standards to include software development practices, design styles and software deployment. Analyze technologies, technical processes and/or functions, document findings, identify areas for improvement and create specifications and implement. Provide strategic direction to the organization by creating reference architectures and defining governance for the overall BI deployment strategy. Participate in architectural reviews and provide guidance on Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. Work with project development teams to coordinate reports and metadata promotions from dev to QA and production Work collaboratively with technical staff, and business experts to develop solutions to business requirements and client problems. Mentor other team members on new and existing technologies and help guide the Business Intelligence development process. Technical Knowledge: Expert knowledge of SAS 9 Architecture Expert knowledge of SAS 9 Metadata Management through SAS Management Console and SAS Information Map Studio Expert knowledge of Development and Deployment of SAS Web Report Studio Reports (WRS) Expert Knowledge of Development and Deployment of SAS Information Delivery Portal Content Expert Knowledge of Development and Deployment of custom SAS Stored Process Web Applications through the SAS client tools (i.e. WRS, IDP, EG, AMO, etc Experience of Base SAS Programming (SAS Macro Language, SAS ODS, Proc Report, Proc Tabulate, SAS Graph, etc Familiarity with Window and Unix environments and corresponding infrastructure to support SAS software Experience with Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, DB2 UDB and DB2 Mainframe. Experience with data warehouse and relational data modeling design Excellent SQL skills and demonstrated ability to write complex SQL for purposes of analyzing data and/or evaluating how information needs might be translated into back end database structures. Ability to write clear documentation of procedures, and ability to write specifications for data models to be developed. Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development. Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle practices. Qualifications: A minimum of 7 years experience providing Business Intelligence architecture/administration/development in a Fortune 500 company. 5+ years of experience with BI Architecture, Dimensional Modeling Data Warehousing 3+ years of experience with SAS 9 Architecture Additional 3-5 years working in another role within a data warehouse team, such as business/data analyst, quality assurance analyst, or ETL developer. Experience with Teradata database and Oracle BI is a BIG plus B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or Electrical Engineering or a related quantitative discipline. Graduate degree in Business, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline is a BIG plus.
