SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
:

Under direction of the Systems Integration Supervisor, the incumbent will install, repair, replace, relocate, test, and monitor all SCADA PC workstations (HMIs human machine interfaces) including all associated hardware devices.  He/she will work with supervision and the customer to install operating systems, functional software, and hardware to HMI workstations.  This position will work with the customer, supervision, and electricians in performance of work to include but not be limited to: installation/relocation of workstation power and network wiring, troubleshooting system malfunctions, imaging and testing workstations, performing network integrity testing, network monitoring, devise upgrade and switching out failed or outdated components.  He/she will work with OEM vendors as required to execute debugging, firmware updates, software patches, software revisions, and program modifications for all SCADA HMIs and related hardware such as PLCs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Installs, repairs, upgrades, troubleshoots, monitors, and maintains SCADA system HMIs, related hardware, and associated network devices.

·         In coordination with the SCADA Supervisor, the customer and OEM vendors installs various software programs, patches, programming upgrades, operating systems, firmware revisions, program changes, and similar items to ensure SCADA system functionality.

·         Works with electricians, customer representatives, and OEM vendors to troubleshoot and test SCADA system HMIs, related hardware, programming logic, and network devices.  Thereafter, coordinates implements software changes and hardware repairs to correct deficiencies founds.

·         Works directly with OEM equipment vendors, representatives and technical experts as required repairing, replacing, upgrading and commissioning SCADA equipment.

·         Utilizes, runs, and implements corrections via the use of diagnostic software as required.

·         Provides technical support related to the SCADA systems, including responding to complex customer and vendor inquiries, troubleshooting efforts/projects and root-cause analysis. 

·         Updates records, logs, and other documentation as required to document corrective actions, upgrades, equipment statuses, and work in progress.

·         Provides logic input for SCADA programming upgrades and changes.

·         Assists in completing root-cause analysis for failures and provides corrective recommendations.

·         Programs SCADA specialty system hardware devices such as PLCs as directed by an OEM programmer or engineer.

·         Ensures works is completed in a timely manner based on standards outlined and priorities set.

·         Stays abreast of technical advances in SCADA system HMIs and other hardware technology.

·         Interacts with the customer’s technical and management team.

·         Establishes and maintains relationships and make active contribution to technical issues and discussions.

·         Assists with staff reports and other periodic reports.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

MANDATORY: 

·         High school graduate or equivalent.

·         Associate’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering or Automation/Control technology.

·         At least two (2) years working experience in Computer Science, Engineering or Automation/Control technology.

·         At least two (2) years working experience in networking and developing HMI applications

·         Ability to troubleshoot, identify and repair network system hardware, software, and associated devices deficiencies.

·         Working knowledge of computer hardware components and operation (routing, switching and operating systems).

·         Basic understanding of SCADA system setup and maintenance with regard to administration, programming, database administration, telemetry, and RTU input management.

·         Must be able to operate all office equipment including but not limited to: telephones, copy machines, fax machines, printers, and computers

·         Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

·         Must demonstrate good ethics and sound character.

·         U.S. Citizen

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level clearance, after hire.

·         Must have a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

·         Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

·         Must have excellent organizational skills.

·         Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

·         Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.

·         Ability to independently lift up to 75 lbs as team lift.

·         Ability to pass a pre-hire drug and background screen.

 

PREFERRED:

·         Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field.

·         Working knowledge of OEM, Harris, systems and equipment.

·         Working knowledge of OEM, CISCO, systems and equipment.
