SCM Deal Control Analyst recruitment
One of the main duties for this role is the daily, monthly and quarterly PL reporting and forecasting; tasks include:
- Running a daily PL reporting process for SCM including flash and formal PL process;
- Liaising with the SCM Front Office team to reconcile forecasts to actual PL, ensuring breaks are cleared or reconciled;
- Maintaining a revenue forecast model;
- Providing PL commentary/analysis on a regular basis either standalone or in conjunction with SCM finance colleagues to internal stakeholders
Operation and documentation of related Sarbanes Oxley controls and responsibility for ensuring that periodic controls are evidenced and signed off by the appropriate SOX operators within the area;
Ownership of account reconciliation, review and sign off processes relating to legal cost postings and SCM dormant entities;
Assisting in the financial control activities of SCM Branch (the main funding entity within the area), particularly in relation to resolving intercompany breaks and enriching balances for external reporting and disclosure purposes;
Responding to ad-hoc queries on legal entities that are raised by the Front Office and other parts of Finance;
Supporting the SCM Finance Team on a monthly basis to track status of team wide inter-company reconciliations;
Participation in finance projects on an ad-hoc basis.
Qualifications /education:
- Qualified chartered accountant (ACA or equivalent)
Experience required
- Prior experience of the financial services sector, in particular banking is preferable
Skills and knowledge:
- Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Ability to understand accounting entries and apply this knowledge in a practical manner
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Good Microsoft Word skills
- A strong practical understanding of the importance of rigorous controls environment
