SCOM Engineer Job in Redmond 98073, Washington Us

This SCOM Engineer will:
- Work as member of 9xMonOps team supporting the BPOS-S monitoring infrastructure.
- Ensure SCOM infrastructure is healthy and has sufficient capacity.
- Work with team and manager to define SCOM deliverables and schedule to complete.
- Participate in various change, incident and project related meetings as required.
- Deploy management packs, monitoring apps and configuration of synthetic transactions.
- Maintain the SCOM infrastructure and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Be proficient in SCOM admin scripting and leveraging automation to perform daily tasks.
- Author scripts that will enhance and enable SCOM to drive the retail operation.
- Understand management pack internals and ensure releases adhere to industry best practices.
- Act as SME for specific area of knowledge, document and share expertise.
- Exhibit urgency and respond to issues in a timely manner.

- This role requires a deep level of SCOM troubleshooting expertise. - Ability to run predefined SQL queries and interpret output. - Understanding of SCOM performance, components and administration. - An in depth understanding and real world experience of IT operations and support. - Experience setting up a SCOM infrastructure, agent migration, installing/upgrading etc. - Demonstrated trouble-shooting and problem solving skills required. - Technical breadth and understanding of the Microsoft platform - Experience in operations of a Microsoft centric platform is a must. - In depth understanding of hardware architectures.

Qualifications: 4+ years of scripting in SCOM. Self-Motivated, resourceful and fast learner. 5+ years Technical Operations or equivalent environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous Microsoft experience is a plus. MCSE certifications and Keynote would be a plus.
